The Beginning of the Incarnation

Ages ago, when the path of truth and righteousness began to wane, and the earth was burdened with sins, a terrible demon arose. His name was Hiranyaksha. The tale of his power and tyranny spread to every corner of heaven and earth.

The Reign of Hiranyaksha

Hiranyaksha's terror had spread across all three worlds. He had defeated the gods and driven them from heaven, establishing his dominion over the earth. There was no limit to his cruelty. He killed the innocent, persecuted the sages, and disrupted sacrifices. Chaos reigned on earth, as if the apocalypse had arrived. Fear had caused people to stop even uttering the name of God. Despair and darkness enveloped everything. It seemed as though righteousness would be completely destroyed.

"This earth is now mine alone! Gods and men are all my slaves!" roared Hiranyaksha. "Whoever stands against me will be put to death." His arrogance had grown so immense that he considered himself God. He believed that no one could withstand his might.

The Lament of the Earth

Tormented by Hiranyaksha's atrocities, Mother Earth could no longer bear it. The burden of sins had become so great that her very existence was in peril. Slowly, the earth began to sink into the netherworld. Mountains, rivers, and forests all began to submerge. The piteous cries of gods and men proved to be in vain. The earth trembled, awaiting its destruction. It seemed as though Mother Earth was incapable of saving her children.

Lord Vishnu, who always protects his devotees, could not ignore Mother Earth's suffering. He resolved in his heart that he would surely rescue the earth from this crisis. The feelings of compassion and justice surged within him. He strengthened his resolve and decided to incarnate.

The Praise of Lord Brahma

As the earth was sinking into the netherworld, Lord Brahma, along with the gods and sages, began to praise Lord Vishnu. They prayed to the Lord to save the earth from Hiranyaksha's tyranny. "O Vishnu, you are the preserver of this creation. Only you can save this earth now," said Lord Brahma. "We have no hope but in you." Hearing their praise, a ray of hope appeared in the eyes of the gods and sages. They all began to await Lord Vishnu's grace. This was the critical moment when Lord Vishnu's Varaha avatar was destined to manifest. The subsequent story will be about the prayer and the manifestation.
