Radha Krishna Love Story – Chapter 7: Krishna's Statesman Form

Krishna's Statesman Form
After the visit to Mathura, Kansa was dead and the people were free from fear. Now it was time to bring order to Mathura and re-establish the glory of the Yadu dynasty. Understanding his responsibilities, Krishna assumed the form of a skilled statesman.
The Throne of Mathura
After the killing of Kansa, a wave of joy spread among the people of Mathura. The gods played drums in the sky and an atmosphere of celebration prevailed all around. Krishna and Balram freed their parents, Devaki and Vasudev, from prison, and bowed at their feet. Devaki and Vasudev embraced their beloved sons with tearful eyes, as if years of penance had been successful today. The people, troubled by Kansa's atrocities, urged Krishna to accept him as their king.
Krishna humbly said, "I am not worthy to be king. I am only a servant of all of you. Maharaj Ugrasen is our real king, and this throne befits him." Krishna re-enthroned Ugrasen and resolved to serve the people by becoming his advisor himself. Ugrasen blessed Krishna with emotion, "You are blessed Krishna, you are blessed!
Establishment of Dwarka
Mathura was constantly threatened by Jarasandha, Kansa's father-in-law. Jarasandha repeatedly attacked Mathura with his huge army. Krishna was concerned about the safety of Mathura and the well-being of the people. He felt the need for a safe place to protect the Yadavs from Jarasandha's attacks. Therefore, Krishna decided to build a new city by the sea. Dwarkapuri was built by Vishwakarma - a city that was safe and full of natural beauty.
Lord Krishna moved the Yadavs from Mathura to Dwarka, where he established a prosperous and safe kingdom. Dwarkapuri became a symbol of religion, justice and peace. Krishna ruled here like an ideal king, providing happiness and prosperity to the people and establishing religion. In Dwarka, Krishna proved what a king should be - a protector of the people, just, and devout.
Uddhav's Sermon to Radha
After going to Dwarka, Krishna knew about Radha's restlessness. He knew that Radha was very sad in his separation. Krishna sent his friend Uddhav to Radha. Uddhav was an ocean of knowledge and also a great devotee of Krishna. Reaching Vrindavan, Uddhav explained to Radha the true meaning of Krishna's love. He told Radha that Krishna is not just a person, he is the Supreme Brahman, who resides in every heart.
Uddhav preached to Radha that separation from Krishna is only an illusion. True love is the union of the soul with the Supreme Soul. Radha listened to Uddhav's words and absorbed them. Gradually the sorrow of her mind subsided and she experienced the depth of Krishna's love. Uddhav also told Radha about Krishna's political responsibilities, how he is in Dwarka to establish Dharma. Radha understood Krishna's duty and prayed for his auspicious life. This knowledge helped Radha to get rid of the unbearable pain of separation and established her in unwavering devotion to Krishna. She rose above physical love and started understanding spiritual love.
The Role of Mahabharata
Krishna's political skills had spread all around in Dwarka. He was now known as a powerful king and a skilled strategist. In the coming times, there was going to be a fierce war between religion and unrighteousness, which would be known as Mahabharata. Krishna's role in this war was going to be very important. He would become Arjuna's charioteer and make an important contribution in the establishment of Dharma. In the next chapter we will see how Krishna prepares the background for the war of Mahabharata.
Summary of Chapter 7: In this chapter, we saw how Krishna re-established Maharaj Ugrasen without accepting the throne of Mathura and established Dwarkapuri. Uddhav explained the true meaning of Krishna's love to Radha by giving her knowledge. This chapter teaches us that even separation is a practice in true devotion, and fulfilling one's duty is true religion.
