Vaishno Devi Katha – Chapter 3: The Chase of Bhairon Nath

The Chase of Bhairon Nath
Vaishnavi's spiritual journey had taken a wondrous turn. After gaining knowledge from Siddha Baba, she was now aware of the powers that would help her serve humanity. But destiny had something else in store. Bhairon Nath, who was mesmerized by her beauty until now, now pursued her as another challenge.
Bhairon Nath's Stubbornness
Bhairon Nath was enraged by Vaishnavi's disappearance. His lust had intensified even further. He deployed all his servants to find Vaishnavi. His search continued in all four directions. Bhairon Nath's mind was no longer filled with love, but with a desire for possession, a stubbornness he wanted to fulfill at any cost. "Where can she hide from me? I will scour the entire earth, but I will not rest until I find her," he said to himself, arrogance and anger evident in his voice.
"This Vaishnavi is no ordinary woman. There is something about her that is beyond comprehension. But I, Bhairon Nath, cannot be defeated by anyone. She must be taught a lesson," he admonished his servants, "Hurry! I want her now!" His face was contorted with terrible anger, which frightened the servants.
Journey Towards Trikuta Mountain
Unaware of Bhairon Nath's intentions, Vaishnavi was slowly moving towards Trikuta Mountain. Nature was protecting her, flowers were strewn on her paths, and cool breezes were giving her courage. She continued her penance, chanting the name of God at every step. She knew her destination was calling her, a place where she could fulfill her purpose.
Engrossed in her meditation, Vaishnavi prayed, "O Mother, give me the strength to remain steadfast on my path. Lead me to the goal for which you have chosen me. Grant me the power to protect devotees and establish righteousness." There was a divine light in her heart, inspiring her to face every challenge. Vaishnavi knew her journey would not be easy, obstacles would arise, but she had faith in her chosen deity.
Intervention of Hanuman Ji
Bhairon Nath, chasing Vaishnavi, reached near Trikuta Mountain. His eyes fell on Vaishnavi, and he shouted with joy. Just then, suddenly, Hanuman Ji appeared. He warned Bhairon Nath to leave Vaishnavi alone. Hanuman Ji said, "O wicked one, you do not know what power you are confronting. Vaishnavi is the very form of the Goddess; you will have to face the consequences."
Hanuman Ji's tail seized Bhairon Nath and began to spin him in the air. Bhairon Nath cried out in pain. Hanuman Ji threw him down and said, "There is still time, ask for forgiveness. Otherwise, your end is certain!" Bhairon Nath was terrified by Hanuman Ji's power, but his ego was still alive. He mentally made a plan to obtain Vaishnavi. Hanuman Ji then told Vaishnavi to continue her penance in Trikuta Mountain, and that they would always protect her. Vaishnavi bowed to Hanuman Ji and proceeded towards Trikuta Mountain.
