Tripura Sundari Katha – Chapter 5: The Beginning of the Fierce Battle

The Beginning of a Fierce Battle
In the previous chapter, we saw how Mother Tripura Sundari prepared her army for battle to liberate the world from Bhandasura's atrocities. Now, the sound of conch shells is echoing in the sky, signaling the commencement of a fierce war. Both armies stand face to face, like two vast oceans eager to collide with each other.
Preparations for War
The army of Tripura Sundari, comprising magnificent warriors adorned with arms and armor, is roaring like lions. The wheels of their chariots shake the earth, and their flags flutter in the wind. Mother Tripura Sundari herself is seated on her divine chariot, her radiance shining like the sun. Her face bears the gravity of war, yet it also holds a sense of compassion. Her eyes bestow blessings of fearlessness upon her devotees. It seems as if nature itself is eager to assist her in this battle. The hearts of the warriors are filled with a wonderful blend of devotion and courage.
"O Devis and Devas! Today, we go to war to protect Dharma. Before us stands the army of Adharma, which we must defeat. Remember, our aim is not just victory, but the establishment of truth!" Mother Tripura Sundari addresses her army like a roaring lioness. Her voice is infused with such confidence and power that the fear of every warrior vanishes.
A Shower of Weapons
Bhandasura's army launched the first attack. The terrifying weapons of the demons flew through the air, heading towards Mother Tripura Sundari's army. However, Mother Tripura Sundari raised her bow and released a divine arrow. That arrow split into thousands of pieces and destroyed the demons' weapons. Then, she struck with her discus, cutting down rows upon rows of demons. Rivers of blood began to flow on the battlefield. The earth echoed with the screams of the demons. The speed of Mother Tripura Sundari's weapons was so swift that the demons had no chance to recover. Each of her weapons possessed immense power and brilliance, sufficient to incinerate Bhandasura's army.
By the grace of Mother Tripura Sundari, the warriors of her army were displaying extraordinary valor. They were cutting down the demons like carrots and radishes. Chaos reigned all around. The gods showered flowers from the sky, and the Siddhas began to praise the Mother. Whoever sought refuge in the Mother attained fearlessness; all their troubles were removed.
A Scene of Annihilation
Bhandasura, seeing the annihilation of his army, was filled with rage. He began to use his terrible weapons. However, Mother Tripura Sundari countered him with her beauty and power. She displayed many divine weapons – she generated fire with the Agneya Astra, brought forth a flood of water with the Varuna Astra, and created a storm with the Vayu Astra. Bhandasura's army was completely thrown into disarray. The tide of the battle had now clearly turned in favor of Mother Tripura Sundari. This fierce battle was now destined to be the cause of Bhandasura's destruction. In the next chapter, we will see how Mother Tripura Sundari slays Bhandasura and liberates the world from his atrocities.
Summary of Chapter 5: A fierce battle begins between the armies of Mother Tripura Sundari and Bhandasura. The Goddess destroys the demons with her divine weapons, demonstrating that the power of Dharma always triumphs over Adharma. Devotees learn that confidence and devotion are essential to face any challenge while walking the path of truth.
