Chapter 9 : Rajavidya Rajaguhya Yoga –

Shri Bhagavan said - I will again tell you, a devotee free from fault-finding, this supreme secret knowledge along with realization, knowing which you will be liberated from the sorrowful world. ॥ 1 ॥
This knowledge along with realization is the king of all knowledge, the king of all secrets, supremely pure, supremely excellent, directly realizable, righteous, very easy to practice, and imperishable. ॥ 2 ॥
O Parantapa! Men without faith in this aforementioned Dharma, not attaining Me, revolve in the cycle of mortal existence. ॥ 3 ॥
This entire world is pervaded by Me, the unmanifested form, just as ice is formed from water, and all beings exist within Me as the basis of My will, but in reality, I am not situated in them. ॥ 4 ॥
Nor are those beings situated in Me; behold My divine power of Yoga, that My Self, which is the sustainer and originator of all beings, is not in reality situated in those beings. ॥ 5 ॥
Just as the mighty wind, blowing everywhere, is always situated in the sky, similarly, know that all beings are situated in Me, having originated from My will. ॥ 6 ॥
O Arjuna! At the end of the kalpas, all beings merge into My Prakriti, that is, they are dissolved into Prakriti, and at the beginning of the kalpas, I create them again. ॥ 7 ॥
Presiding over My Prakriti, I project again and again this entire multitude of beings, helpless under the control of Prakriti, according to their karma. ॥ 8 ॥
O Arjuna! Those actions do not bind Me, who am seated as if indifferent, unattached to those actions. ॥ 9 ॥
O Arjuna! Under My guidance, Prakriti brings forth the entire universe, with all its moving and unmoving beings; it is because of this that the wheel of the world revolves. ॥ 10 ॥
The deluded, not knowing My supreme nature as the great Lord of all beings, disregard Me when I descend in human form, that is, they consider Me, the Supreme Lord, who wanders in human form to uplift the world through My Yoga Maya, as an ordinary human being. ॥ 11 ॥
Those of bewildered intellect, with vain hopes, vain actions, and vain knowledge, embrace the delusive nature of demons and the unrighteous. ॥ 12 ॥
But the great souls, O son of Kunti, endowed with divine nature, knowing Me as the imperishable source of all beings, worship Me with unwavering minds. ॥ 13 ॥
Constantly chanting My names and glories, striving with firm resolve, and bowing down to Me with devotion, they, ever steadfast, worship Me with unwavering love. ॥ 14 ॥
Others, performing the sacrifice of knowledge, worship Me by realizing My oneness with them, while others worship Me in various ways, as distinct from them, in My universal form with faces in all directions. ॥ 15 ॥
I am the ritual, I am the sacrifice, I am the offering to ancestors, I am the herb, I am the mantra, I am the clarified butter, I am the fire, and I am the oblation. ॥ 16 ॥
I am the sustainer of this entire universe, the giver of the fruits of actions, the father, the mother, the grandfather, the knowable, the purifier, the sacred syllable Om, and also the Rigveda, Samaveda, and Yajurveda. ॥ 17 ॥
I am the ultimate goal, the sustainer, the lord, the witness, the abode, the refuge, the well-wisher, the origin, the dissolution, the foundation, the treasure, and the imperishable seed. ॥ 18 ॥
I give heat, I withhold and send forth the rain. O Arjuna! I am immortality and death, and also being and non-being. ॥ 18 ॥
Those who perform the rituals prescribed in the three Vedas, drink the Soma juice, purified of sins*, worship Me through sacrifices and pray for the path to heaven; they, attaining the realm of Indra as a result of their meritorious deeds, enjoy the divine pleasures of the gods in heaven. ॥ 20 ॥
Having enjoyed that vast heavenly world, they return to the mortal world when their merits are exhausted. Thus, those who follow the dharma of the three Vedas, seeking enjoyment, attain repeated coming and going, that is, they go to heaven by the power of their merits and return to the mortal world when their merits are exhausted. ॥ 21 ॥
But those devotees who, meditating on Me without any other thought, worship Me with selfless devotion, I personally take care of their needs and preserve what they have. ॥ 22 ॥
Even those devotees who, endowed with faith, worship other deities, O Arjuna, are in reality worshiping Me, but in an improper way, that is, with ignorance. ॥ 23 ॥
For I alone am the enjoyer and the Lord of all sacrifices; but they do not know Me in truth, and therefore they fall, that is, they are reborn. ॥ 24 ॥
The worshipers of the gods go to the gods, the worshipers of the ancestors go to the ancestors, the worshipers of the spirits go to the spirits, and My worshipers come to Me alone. Therefore, My devotees are not reborn. ॥ 25 ॥
Whoever offers Me with love a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water, that offering of love from a pure-hearted devotee I accept with joy in My manifested form. ॥ 26 ॥
Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in sacrifice, whatever you give in charity, and whatever austerity you perform, O Arjuna, do that as an offering to Me. ॥ 27 ॥
In this way, with your mind steadfast in the yoga of renunciation, in which all actions are offered to Me, the Lord, you will be freed from the bonds of karma, which bear good and evil fruits, and being liberated from them, you will come to Me alone. ॥ 28 ॥
I am equally present in all beings; I have no one hateful or dear to Me; but those who worship Me with love are in Me, and I am also manifest in them. ॥ 29 ॥
Even if a very wicked person worships Me with exclusive devotion, he is to be regarded as righteous, for he has made the right resolution, that is, he has firmly resolved that there is nothing else like worshiping the Supreme Lord. ॥ 30 ॥
He soon becomes righteous and attains lasting peace. O Arjuna! Know for certain that My devotee never perishes. ॥ 31 ॥
For those who take refuge in Me, O Arjuna, though they may be of sinful birth, women, merchants, and laborers, they too attain the supreme goal. ॥ 32 ॥
How much more, then, the virtuous Brahmins and the royal sages who are devotees attain the supreme goal by taking refuge in Me. Therefore, having obtained this impermanent and unhappy human body, constantly worship Me alone. ॥ 33 ॥
Fix your mind on Me, be My devotee, sacrifice to Me, bow down to Me. Having thus united yourself with Me, making Me your supreme goal, you shall come to Me alone. ॥ 34 ॥
ॐ tatsaditi śrīmadbhagavadgītāsūpaniṣatsu brahmavidyāyāṁ yogaśāstre śrīkṛṣṇārjunasaṁvāde rājavidyārājaguhyayogo nāma navamo'dhyāyaḥ ॥ 9 ॥
