Chapter 10 : Vibhuti Yoga – अध्याय १०: विभूतियोग
The Supreme Lord said: O mighty-armed Arjuna, listen again to My supreme words, which I shall speak for your benefit, being pleased with you.

Śrī Bhagavān uvāca bhūya eva mahābāho śṛṇu me paramaṁ vacaḥ. Yatte'haṁ prīyamāṇāya vakṣyāmi hitakāmyayā ।।

The Lord said: Again, O mighty-armed one, listen to My supreme word, which I shall speak to you, who are exceedingly dear to Me, for your welfare. ॥ 1 ॥

Na me viduḥ suragaṇāḥ prabhavaṁ na maharṣayaḥ. Ahamādirhi devānāṁ maharṣīṇāṁ ca sarvaśaḥ ।।

Neither the hosts of gods nor the great seers know My origin, for I am the source of all the gods and great seers in every way. ॥ 2 ॥

Yo māmajamanādiṁ ca vetti lokamaheśvaram. Asammūḍhaḥ sa martyeṣu sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate ।।

He who knows Me as unborn, without beginning, and the great Lord of the worlds, is undeluded among mortals and is freed from all sins. ॥ 3 ॥

Buddhirjñānamasammohaḥ kṣamā satyaṁ damaḥ śamaḥ. Sukhaṁ duḥkhaṁ bhavo'bhāvo bhayaṁ cābhayameva ca ॥
Ahiṁsā samatā tuṣṭistapo dānaṁ yaśo'yaśaḥ. Bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānāṁ matta eva pṛthagvidhāḥ ।।

Discernment, knowledge, non-delusion, forgiveness, truth, control of the senses, tranquility of mind, happiness, sorrow, birth, death, fear, and fearlessness, non-violence, equanimity, contentment, austerity, charity, fame, and infamy—these diverse qualities of beings arise from Me alone. ॥ 4-5 ॥

Maharṣayaḥ sapta pūrve catvāro manavastathā. Madbhāvā mānasā jātā yeṣāṁ loka imāḥ prajāḥ ।।

The seven great seers, the four ancient ones, and also the Manus, who are endowed with My nature, were born of My mind, and from them are all these creatures in the world. ॥ 6 ॥

Etāṁ vibhūtiṁ yogaṁ ca mama yo vetti tattvataḥ. So'vikampena yogena yujyate nātra saṁśayaḥ ।।

He who knows in truth this glory and power of Mine is united with unwavering devotion; there is no doubt about this. ॥ 7 ॥

Ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate. Iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāvasamanvitāḥ ।।

I am the origin of all; from Me everything proceeds. Understanding this, the wise, endowed with faith, worship Me. ॥ 8 ॥

Maccittā magataprāṇā bodhayantaḥ parasparam. Kathayantaśca māṁ nityaṁ tuṣyanti ca ramanti ca ।।

With their minds fixed on Me, their lives surrendered to Me, enlightening one another, and always speaking of Me, they are content and delighted. ॥ 9 ॥

Teṣāṁ satatayuktānāṁ bhajatāṁ prītipūrvakam. Dadāmi buddhiyogaṁ taṁ yena māmupayānti te ।।

To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with love, I grant the yoga of understanding by which they come to Me. ॥ 10 ॥

Teṣāmevānukampārthamahamajñānajaṁ tamaḥ. Nāśayāmyātmabhāvastho jñānadīpena bhāsvatā ॥

Out of compassion for them, I, dwelling within their hearts, destroy the darkness born of ignorance with the luminous lamp of knowledge. ॥ 11 ॥

Arjuna uvāca paraṁ brahma paraṁ dhāma pavitraṁ paramaṁ bhavān. Puruṣaṁ śāśvataṁ divyamādidevamajaṁ vibhum ॥
Āhustvāmṛṣayaḥ sarve devarṣirnāradastathā. Asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṁ caiva bravīṣi me ।।

Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Brahman, the supreme abode, the supreme purifier. All the seers, Nārada the divine seer, Asita, Devala, and Vyāsa, declare You to be the eternal, divine Person, the primal God, unborn, and all-pervading. And You Yourself tell me so. ॥ 12-13 ॥

Sarvametadṛtaṁ manye yanmāṁ vadasi keśava. Na hi te bhagavanvyaktiṁ vidurdevā na dānavāḥ ।।

O Keshava, I believe all that You tell me to be true. O Lord, neither the gods nor the demons know Your manifestation. ॥ 14 ॥

Svayamevātmanātmānaṁ vettha tvaṁ puruṣottama. Bhūtabhāvana bhūteśa devadeva jagatpate ।।

O Purushottama, You alone know Yourself by Yourself, O Creator of beings, Lord of beings, God of gods, Lord of the universe. ॥ 15 ॥

Vaktumarhasyaśeṣeṇa divyā hyātmavibhūtayaḥ. Yābhirvibhūtibhirlokānimāṁstvaṁ vyāpya tiṣṭhasi ।।

You should indeed tell me fully of Your divine glories by which You pervade these worlds and remain. ॥ 16 ॥

Kathaṁ vidyāmahaṁ yogimstvāṁ sadā paricintayan. Keṣu keṣu ca bhāveṣu cintyo'si bhagavanmayā ।।

How shall I know You, O Yogin, by constantly meditating on You? In what various aspects are You to be contemplated by me, O Lord? ॥ 17 ॥

Vistareṇātmano yogaṁ vibhūtiṁ ca janārdana. Bhūyaḥ kathaya tṛptirhi śṛṇvato nāsti me'mṛtam ।।

Tell me again in detail, O Janārdana, of Your power and glory, for I am never satiated by hearing Your nectar-like words. ॥ 18 ॥

Śrībhagavānuvāca hanta te kathayiṣyāmi divyā hyātmavibhūtayaḥ. Prādhānyataḥ kuruśreṣṭha nāstyanto vistarasya me ।।

The Lord said: Yes, I shall declare to you My divine glories, but only the chief ones, O best of the Kurus, for there is no end to My extent. ॥ 19 ॥

Ahamātmā guḍākeśa sarvabhūtāśayasthitaḥ. Ahamādiśca madhyaṁ ca bhūtānāmanta eva ca ।।

I am the Self, O Gudakesha, seated in the hearts of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle, and also the end of all beings.

Purodhasāṁ ca mukhyaṁ māṁ viddhi pārtha bṛhaspatim. Senānīnāmahaṁ skandaḥ sarasāmasmi sāgaraḥ ।।

Among priests, know Me to be Brihaspati, the chief. Among generals, I am Skanda; and among bodies of water, I am the ocean. ॥ 24 ॥

Among all trees I am the Ashvattha; among divine seers, Nārada; among the Gandharvas, Chitraratha; and among the perfected ones, the sage Kapila. ॥ 26 ॥

Nānto'sti mama divyānāṁ vibhūtīnāṁ parantapa. Eṣa tūddeśataḥ prokto vibhūtervistaro mayā ।।

There is no end to My divine glories, O Parantapa. This is but a brief statement by Me of the extent of My glory. ॥ 40 ॥

Athavā bahunaitena kiṁ jñātena tavārjuna. Viṣṭabhyāhamidaṁ kṛtsnamekāṁśena sthito jagat ।।

But of what avail is it to you to know all this in detail, O Arjuna? I stand supporting this entire universe with a single fragment of Myself. ॥ 42 ॥

Oṁ tatsaditi śrīmadbhagavadgītāsūpaniṣatsu brahmavidyāyāṁ yogaśāstre śrīkṛṣṇārjunasaṁvāde vibhūtiyogo nāma daśamo'dhyāyaḥ ॥ 10 ॥
