Lyrics of Navagraha Aarti

Victory, victory, victory to Ravi, Shashi, Som, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani Maharaj.
Bring peace to Rahu and Ketu, protect everyone's honor ॥

O Sun God, O Moon God, O Mars God, O Mercury God.
O Jupiter God, O Venus God, O Saturn God, protect our honor ॥

Rahu and Ketu, both shadow planets, bring welfare to devotees.
By their grace, all suffering is removed, life becomes blissful today ॥

Sun gives radiance, Moon gives coolness, Mars gives immense strength.
Mercury gives knowledge, Jupiter gives wisdom, Venus gives worldly happiness ॥

Saturn God gives his justice, Rahu and Ketu bring salvation.
May all together bestow grace upon us, may our lives be successful ॥

Whoever sings this aarti, of the Navagrahas today.
Wealth, prosperity, and glory will increase, all troubles will vanish ॥

Meaning of the Aarti

In the first stanza, "Victory, victory, victory to Ravi, Shashi, Som, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani Maharaj," the names of the Navagrahas are chanted, celebrating their glory. Ravi (Sun), Shashi (Moon), Som (Moon), Budh (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), and Shani (Saturn) are all addressed as 'Maharaj' (great king), signifying their greatness and power.

The main sentiment of the aarti is the devotee's prayer to the Navagrahas to bestow their grace, and to provide happiness, peace, and prosperity in their life. The devotee prays to the planets to protect their honor and to remove the sufferings caused by them. This aarti describes the glory of the Navagrahas and wishes for their blessings.

Method of Performing Aarti

In the aarti plate, place a lamp, camphor, ghee, flowers, incense, and akshat (rice). The lamp should be made of ghee and the wick should be lit. The flowers should be fresh and the incense should be fragrant.

Rotate the aarti clockwise. First, rotate it four times at the feet of the deity, twice in front of the navel, and once in front of the face. While performing the aarti, chant the mantras of the Navagrahas or recite their names.

Performing the Navagraha Aarti during the evening aarti is considered most auspicious. Additionally, you can also perform it during Mangala Aarti or Shayan Aarti. Performing this aarti at the beginning of any auspicious task is also beneficial.
