Mirabai, a 16th-century Hindu mystic poet and a supreme devotee of Lord Krishna. She was born into a Rathore Rajput royal family in Kudki, she was a famous devotional saint. Her mention is found in Bhaktamal, confirming that she was widely known and a coveted figure in the Bhakti movement culture by around 1600 CE.
Hindu temples, such as in Chittorgarh Fort, are dedicated to the memory of Mirabai. Many compositions of Meera Bai are still sung in India today, mostly as devotional songs (bhajans), although almost all of them have a philosophical meaning. One of her most popular compositions is "Payoji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo".
Most legends about Mirabai mention her fearless disregard for social and family conventions, her devotion to Krishna, considering Krishna as her husband, and her religious devotion.
