Krishna and the Pandavas

After the slaying of Kamsa, Krishna established the throne of Mathura and freed the subjects from fear. Thereafter, his heart was drawn towards the Pandavas, who, having escaped the fire of the lac mansion, had spent their lives in the forests. He was eager to meet his dear friend Arjuna and Yudhishthira, the protector of Dharma. Destiny was pulling them towards Indraprastha, where they were to play a significant role in establishing righteousness.

Meeting in Indraprastha

Indraprastha, the new city established by the Pandavas in place of Khandavaprastha, bloomed with its beauty and prosperity. High walls surrounded the city, and magnificent palaces were built within. The roads were wide and clean, and greenery was everywhere. The subjects were happy and prosperous, and everyone lived joyfully under Yudhishthira's just rule. When Krishna arrived in Indraprastha, the Pandavas gave him a grand welcome. The joy of seeing their dear friend after many years was evident on their faces.

Yudhishthira stepped forward and embraced Krishna. "O Vasudeva! Your arrival is a great fortune for us. After the incident of the lac mansion, we were disheartened, but with your blessings, we are alive and have been able to build this city. Please continue to guide us." Tears of gratitude welled up in Arjuna's eyes. "Friend Krishna, we are incomplete without you. Your companionship is our greatest strength."

Draupadi's Swayamvara and Arjuna's Prowess

One day, King Drupada of Panchala organized a swayamvara (self-choice ceremony) for his daughter Draupadi. An amazing bow was placed in the swayamvara, which only a warrior with extraordinary strength and skill could lift. The condition was that one had to string the bow and hit the eye of a fish rotating above. Many kings and princes came, but none could succeed in lifting the bow. Then Arjuna, disguised as a Brahmin, stood up, effortlessly lifted the bow, and aimed at the fish's eye. The entire swayamvara hall echoed with applause.

Arjuna's incredible success paved the way for winning Draupadi. Krishna, who was present at the swayamvara, was well aware of Arjuna's capabilities. It was his blessing that Arjuna achieved such a difficult target. He signaled to the Pandavas that this was a sign of destiny, and they should accept Draupadi as their wife. Krishna knew that Draupadi's entry into the Pandavas' lives would begin a new chapter, in which righteousness and justice would be established.

Diplomatic Guidance and Support

Krishna remained a political advisor and guide for the Pandavas. He advised Yudhishthira to follow the path of Dharma and inspired Arjuna to use his skills to fight against injustice. Krishna knew that the tyranny of the Kauravas was increasing, and the Pandavas would have to face a great battle in the future. He encouraged the Pandavas to be prepared for this battle and to stand with Dharma. Krishna's presence and guidance provided strength and confidence to the Pandavas, preparing them to face the coming challenges.
