Chapter 7 of Karna Danveer Katha — Karna's Death and Legacy. Karna attains martyrdom in the war with Arjuna, and his generosity, courage, and loyalty are always remembered.

Karna's Death and Legacy

After Kunti's prayer, Karna's heart was drowned in a sea of emotions. He had given his word to his mother, but his resolve to put his full strength into the battle against Arjuna remained firm. The battlefield of Kurukshetra was now ready to witness the final confrontation between Karna and Arjuna. The sun was about to set, and a strange peace had descended upon the atmosphere, as if nature itself was waiting for the end of this great war.

The Beginning of the Final Battle

As morning dawned, conch shells resounded, and Karna, mounted on his chariot, stood before Arjuna. Both were great warriors who had gained fame in all three worlds with their valor and prowess. Karna was responding to the arrows shot from Arjuna's Gandiva bow with his own Vijaya bow. The wheels of the chariots roared, and the whistling of arrows filled the air. Karna and Arjuna were both launching deadly attacks on each other, as if death itself was eager to embrace them.

Karna thought to himself, "Today, either Arjuna will end, or I will. The promise to my mother is one thing, but in a righteous war, I will put forth my full strength." Arjuna was also fighting with complete concentration, knowing that Karna was no ordinary warrior.

The Chariot Wheel Sinks

As the battle raged, suddenly one of Karna's chariot wheels sank into the earth. Karna became helpless and requested Arjuna to stop the fight. According to dharma, it was improper to strike a warrior who was unarmed or in distress. Karna said to Arjuna, "O Arjuna, uphold the principles of righteous war! My chariot has sunk into the earth; give me time to retrieve the wheel. Until then, do not attack with arrows."

Arjuna was in a dilemma. He needed Krishna's guidance. Krishna reminded Arjuna that Karna had committed many unrighteous deeds in his life, including the insult of Draupadi and the killing of Abhimanyu. Surya Dev was extremely saddened by Karna's predicament, but he was bound by the chains of destiny. He mentally prayed to grant Karna strength and patience so that he could accept death while upholding dharma.

Karna's Death and Fame

At Krishna's signal, Arjuna drew an arrow from his Gandiva and aimed it at Karna. The arrow pierced Karna's throat and passed through. Karna's body, radiant like the sun, fell to the ground. His death cast a silence over the battlefield. Even the gods showered flowers upon his death. Karna was truly a generous donor, and he gave away everything – even his life. After his death, Krishna told Arjuna how great a warrior and giver Karna was.

Karna's death marked the end of an era, but his fame will remain immortal for ages to come. He will always be remembered as Danveer Karna. His story teaches us the importance of walking the path of dharma and truth, no matter how difficult the circumstances may be. Now, in the subsequent narrative, the Pandavas will establish their kingdom and dharma will be established.

Summary of Chapter 7: This chapter describes the final battle between Karna and Arjuna, the sinking of Karna's chariot wheel, and his death. Karna's death is an inspiring example of following the path of dharma and charity. His story teaches us to remain steadfast in our values until the very end.
