Chapter 6 of Vindhyavasini Devi Katha — Temple Establishment and Worship. The temple of Goddess Vindhyavasini is established in Vindhyachal and she is worshipped with devotion.

Temple Establishment and Worship

In the previous chapter, we saw how Mother Vindhyavasini, with her divine power, saved the local people from the terror of demons. Impressed by her grace and might, a devotee resolved to build a grand temple in her honor. This temple was destined to become a symbol of unwavering devotion and gratitude towards the Mother.

The Devotee's Vow and Temple Construction

Peace had descended upon the Vindhya region. The air was filled with a sense of gratitude and devotion towards Mother Vindhyavasini. One day, a wealthy and virtuous merchant named Somnath experienced the Mother's grace. Somnath thought to himself, "The Mother has protected us all. Now it is my duty to build a temple for her that befits her glory." Somnath's heart was filled with devotion, and he immediately began planning the temple's construction. He summoned the finest artisans and had the temple's blueprint prepared. Stones were brought from far and wide, and hundreds of craftsmen were engaged day and night. The construction of the temple began with great enthusiasm and devotion.

Somnath often visited the construction site and encouraged the artisans. One day, he asked a craftsman, "How is this temple being built?" The craftsman replied, "This temple is divine, Seth Ji. It feels as if Mother Vindhyavasini herself is showering us with blessings." Tears of gratitude welled up in Somnath's eyes.

Idol Installation and Consecration

After several years of tireless effort, the temple was completed. The grandeur of the temple was breathtaking. The spire touched the sky, and the sculptures carved on the stones appeared lifelike. Now it was time for the idol installation. At an auspicious moment, the idol was installed according to rituals by learned priests and Brahmins. The divine and radiant idol of Mother Vindhyavasini was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Then, with Vedic chants, the idol was consecrated. The Mother's idol was bathed with milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, and water from the Ganges. The entire atmosphere resonated with divine fragrances and the sound of mantras. Devotees began to dance and sing with joy.

As the consecration concluded, it seemed as if a radiant light emanated from the idol of Mother Vindhyavasini and spread throughout the temple. Devotees considered this a symbol of the Mother's grace. Somnath, with folded hands, prayed to the Mother, "O Mother, may this temple always be filled with your grace. Fulfill the desires of every devotee who comes here."

Organization of Worship and Rituals

After the temple's establishment, various types of worship and rituals began to be organized. Aarti was performed every morning and evening. On special occasions, such as Navratri and Purnima, grand yajnas and community feasts were organized. Devotees came from far and wide to have darshan of Mother Vindhyavasini. The temple was always crowded with devotees. Priests performed the Mother's worship daily according to rituals. The Mother was pleased with flowers, fruits, incense, lamps, and offerings.

Mother Vindhyavasini's grace showered upon every devotee. People came to the temple with their problems and sorrows, and the Mother heard their prayers. Through the Mother's grace, people found happiness, peace, and prosperity. Thus, the temple of Vindhyavasini Devi became a center of devotion and faith. This temple still sings the glory of the Mother and attracts devotees to itself. In the next chapter, we will hear more stories of Mother Vindhyavasini's glory and the devotion of her devotees, which have been passed down through generations.

Summary of Chapter 6: In this chapter, we saw how a devotee, inspired by the grace of Mother Vindhyavasini, got a grand temple built. After the idol's installation and consecration, various types of worship and rituals were organized in the temple, making it a center of devotion and faith.
