Vindhyavasini Devi Katha – Chapter 4: Blessing the Vindhya Mountain

Blessing of the Vindhya Mountain
After the destruction of Mahishasura, the radiance of Vindhyavasini Devi spread throughout the universe. Peace was established in the three worlds by her power. On the earth, freed from the terror of Mahishasura, the Vindhya mountain was also filled with gratitude, influenced by the glory of the Goddess.
Praise of Vindhya
The Vindhya mountain, known for its vastness and antiquity, bowed before the divine form of the Goddess. Its peaks, which touched the clouds, now yearned to receive the dust of the Goddess's feet. The sweet music of the waterfalls, which always praised nature, now turned into hymns of praise for the Goddess. The vegetation, always lush and vibrant, became even more joyous with the arrival of the Goddess, as if dancing. Immense reverence for the Goddess surged in the heart of the Vindhya mountain, a power that defined its existence.
"O Jagadambe, O Vindhyavasini," Vindhya called out from its innermost being, its voice echoing through caves and valleys. "I, Vindhya, bow before your boundless grace and power. You have saved the three worlds by slaying Mahishasura. I am indebted to you, and every peak of mine, every valley of mine, is dedicated to your service."
Boons of Immortality
Hearing the praise of the Vindhya mountain, Vindhyavasini Devi was pleased. A stream of compassion flowed from her divine eyes. The Goddess decided to shower Vindhya with her blessings. She touched the Vindhya mountain with her hands, and a wondrous light emanated from Vindhya and merged into the sky. With this touch, a new energy was infused into the Vindhya mountain, a power that would keep it alive for ages to come.
The Goddess said in a solemn voice, "O Vindhya, I am extremely pleased with your devotion and reverence. I grant you the boon of immortality. You will always be known as my abode, and your natural beauty will remain for eternity. There will be peace in your valleys, and purity in your waterfalls. Whoever seeks refuge in you will be freed from fear and anxiety." By the grace of Vindhyavasini, the importance of the Vindhya mountain increased even further.
Glory of Vindhya
The Vindhya mountain, with the Goddess's blessings, further increased in its natural beauty and significance. Its peaks now shone like gold, and its waterfalls became as sweet as nectar. The vegetation became even denser and more vibrant, and animals began to live together peacefully. The Vindhya mountain was no longer just a mountain, but had become a sacred place, where the Goddess's blessings always resided. Now, we will see how the Goddess Vindhyavasini protects the Vindhya mountain and the local people living around it. How she becomes a shield for them, and how they remain safe by her grace, will be described in the next chapter.
