Vat Savitri Vrat Katha

Vat Savitri Vrat is being celebrated today along with the Amavasya of Jyeshtha month. Today, married women observe a fast and worship the banyan tree with rituals. Along with this, listening to the story of Vat Savitri Vrat during worship is considered beneficial.

The story of Savitri Vrat, which falls on the Jyeshtha Krishna Amavasya, which is very popular among married women, is as follows:

There was a king of Bhadra country, whose name was Ashwapati. King Ashwapati of Bhadra country had no children.

He offered one lakh oblations daily with chanting of mantras to obtain children. This continued for eighteen years. After this, Savitri Devi appeared and gave a boon that: O King, you will have a radiant daughter. Because of being born by the grace of Savitri Devi, the girl was named Savitri.

The girl grew up to be very beautiful. Savitri's father was sad because he could not find a suitable groom. He sent the girl to find a groom herself. Savitri started wandering in the hermitage. There, King Dyumatsen of Salva country lived, because someone had snatched his kingdom. Seeing his son Satyavan, Savitri chose him as her husband.

When sage Narada came to know about this, he went to King Ashwapati and said that O King! What are you doing? Satyavan is virtuous, righteous and strong, but his age is very short, he is short-lived. He will die after one year.

Hearing the words of sage Narada, King Ashwapati was drowned in deep चिंता. Savitri asked him the reason, then the king said, daughter, the prince you have chosen as your groom is short-lived. You should make someone else your life partner.

On this Savitri said that father, Aryan girls choose their husband only once, the king gives orders only once and the Pandit makes a promise only once and Kanyadaan is also done only once. Savitri started insisting and said that I will marry only Satyavan. King Ashwapati married Savitri to Satyavan.

As soon as Savitri reached her in-laws' house, she started serving her mother-in-law and father-in-law. Time passed. Narada Muni had already told Savitri about the day of Satyavan's death. As that day approached, Savitri became restless. She started fasting three days in advance. Performed the worship of ancestors on the fixed date mentioned by Narada Muni.

Like every day, Satyavan went to the forest to cut wood that day too, Savitri also went with him. After reaching the forest, Satyavan climbed a tree to cut wood. Then he started having a sharp pain in his head, Satyavan, troubled by the pain, came down from the tree. Savitri understood her future.

Keeping Satyavan's head in her lap, Savitri started caressing Satyavan's head. Then Yamraj was seen coming there. Yamraj started taking Satyavan with him. Savitri also started following him.

Yamraj tried to explain to Savitri that this is the law of nature. But Savitri did not agree.

Seeing Savitri's devotion and devotion to her husband, Yamraj said to Savitri that O Goddess, you are blessed. You ask me for any boon.

1) Savitri said that my in-laws are forest dwellers and blind, you should give them divine light. Yamraj said it will be so. Go now and go back.
But Savitri kept walking behind her husband Satyavan. Yamraj said Goddess you go back. Savitri said Bhagavan, I have no problem walking behind my husband. It is my duty to walk behind my husband. Hearing this, he asked her to ask for another boon again.

2) Savitri said that our father-in-law's kingdom has been snatched away, please return it to him again.
Yamraj gave this boon to Savitri and said now you go back. But Savitri kept walking behind.

Yamraj asked Savitri to ask for a third boon.
3) On this Savitri asked for the boon of 100 children and good fortune. Yamraj also gave this boon to Savitri.

Savitri said to Yamraj that Lord, I am a devoted wife and you have blessed me to have a son. Hearing this, Yamraj had to leave Satyavan's life. Yamraj disappeared and Savitri came to the same banyan tree where her husband's dead body was lying.

Satyavan came to life and both happily proceeded towards their kingdom. When both reached home, they saw that the parents had received divine light. In this way Savitri-Satyavan enjoyed the pleasures of the kingdom for a long time.

Therefore, in accordance with the devoted Savitri, first start other methods along with proper worship of your in-laws. By observing Vat Savitri Vrat and listening to this story, even if there is any kind of crisis on the married life or the age of the life partner of the fasting person, it gets averted.
