Umiya Mata Katha – Chapter 3: Goddess of Kadva Patidars

Goddess of Kadva Patidars
After the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, joy permeated Mount Kailash. A wave of happiness spread among the gods, and nature itself celebrated with its beauty. However, the cycle of karma continued to turn on Earth, and a new lineage was about to be born, for which Mother Parvati herself had orchestrated this divine play.
The Call of the Land
Time passed. The number of humans on Earth kept increasing. Some among them were very hardworking, enterprising, and full of courage. They tilled the land, grew crops, and sustained their lives through their labor. They knew that Mother Earth was everything, and protecting her was their utmost duty. However, they needed guidance that would organize them and form a strong lineage. In their hearts, they yearned for a goddess who would become their Kuldevi (clan goddess) and guide them. They prayed together, "O Mother, show us the way! Bless us with a Kuldevi!"
A farmer named Lakha said, "I have heard that Shiva and Parvati have promised to bring welfare to Earth. Will they hear our prayers?" His wife replied, "Have faith, Lakha. A prayer offered with true devotion is never in vain. Mother Parvati will surely hear our call." Lakha closed his eyes and prayed, "O Mother Parvati, we are in your refuge. Consider us your children and guide us."
The Manifestation of Umiya Mata
The collective prayers of thousands of farmers reached Mother Parvati. She felt compassion for those hardworking and dedicated people. She decided to manifest on Earth. A wondrous light spread, and from within that light, a divine woman appeared. She was serene, gentle, and extremely radiant. Her face held a unique blend of compassion and power. This was Mother Umiya, a form of the Adi Shakti herself. As soon as she appeared, the land became lush green, rivers began to flow pure, and nature rejoiced once again.
Umiya Mata said in a sweet voice, "I have come upon hearing your prayers. I will become your Kuldevi and guide you. You will all be known by the name 'Kadva Patidar,' and with my blessings, your lineage will always flourish." Hearing the Mother's blessings, all the farmers were filled with gratitude. They bowed their heads at the feet of Mother Umiya and established her as their Kuldevi. From that day onwards, Umiya Mata became the revered goddess of the Kadva Patidars, whose grace blessed their lives.
The Establishment of the Kuldevi
Mother Umiya showed the Kadva Patidars the path of righteousness and duty. She taught them that success in life can only be achieved through hard work, honesty, and unity. She also taught them that respecting Mother Earth and protecting her was their greatest dharma. By the grace of Mother Umiya, the Kadva Patidar lineage prospered day by day. Due to their devotion and faith, Mother Umiya saved them from every calamity and always stood by them. Receiving Mother Umiya's blessings, the Kadva Patidars lived a prosperous and respected life. Now, the stories of Mother Umiya's miracles and blessings, which occurred in the lives of her devotees, will be carried forward.
