Sudama and Krishna Story – Chapter 5: Return and Krishna's Blessing

Return and Krishna's Blessing
While departing from Dwarka, Sudama's mind was immersed in a sea of thoughts. Krishna's love and respect had overwhelmed him, but the memory of his poverty was haunting him again and again. So much respect, so much love in exchange for a few handfuls of rice tied in a bundle! Was it all real?
Departure Towards Home
Sudama crossed the border of Dwarka and started walking towards his village. He kept thinking about Krishna all the way. His friendship, his affection, his simplicity... Truly, he considered himself fortunate to have a friend like Krishna. The sun's rays were gradually getting stronger, and Sudama's body was exhausted, but his mind was filled with peace and joy. He was eager to meet his wife and children, and he was imagining meeting them in his mind.
Sudama said in his mind, "O Krishna, your glory is boundless. I gave you nothing, and in return, you gave me so much... I will never be able to repay this debt." Tears of gratitude filled his eyes. He remembered his dilapidated hut and poverty-stricken life, and he wondered what he would say to his wife.
Transformation in the Village
As Sudama approached his village, he began to feel something different. The roads were wider and cleaner. Where dust used to fly before, now lush green trees and plants were swaying. He saw many beautiful buildings that looked like his village home from a distance. Sudama felt that he had lost his way or perhaps had come to another village.
When he reached the place of his house, he could not believe his eyes. Where his dilapidated hut once stood, now stood a magnificent palace. The palace was shining with diamonds and jewels, and there were beautiful gardens all around it. Sudama was completely confused. "Is this a dream? Am I really in my village?" He questioned himself. Just then, his wife Ratnavali, adorned with beautiful clothes and jewelry, came out of the palace.
Krishna's Blessing
Ratnavali recognized Sudama as soon as she saw him and ran and fell at his feet. "Swami! Welcome! This is all Krishna's grace," she said. Sudama wondered how Krishna had given him so much. Ratnavali told him that everything in the village had changed after he left. Poverty had disappeared, and there was a rain of wealth and grain. All the villagers became happy and prosperous.
Sudama understood that Krishna had honored the love and trust of their friendship. He had removed their poverty without asking for anything. This was proof of Krishna's selfless friendship and love. He closed his eyes and thanked Krishna. "O Krishna, your play is boundless. You have taught me what true friendship is and how love is given selflessly."
Final Message
Sudama and Ratnavali thanked Krishna and began to enjoy their new life. They used their wealth to help the poor and needy. Sudama spread the stories of Krishna from village to village, explaining the importance of selfless love and friendship to the people. This story of Sudama and Krishna will remain a symbol of friendship and devotion for ages and will continue to inspire future generations.
