Liberation and the Grace of Vishnu

In the previous chapter, we heard the description of the many incarnations of Lord Vishnu and His glory. Narada Muni explained to Vyasa Deva the importance of establishing Dharma and destroying Adharma through various incarnations. Now, we enter the final chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana, where the profound secret of liberation and the grace of Vishnu will be revealed, which is the ultimate fruit of devotion to God. Come, let us experience that supreme bliss!

Moksha through Vishnu Devotion

A large assembly of sages was gathered on the banks of the river Ganga. The sun's rays were reflecting in the water, scattering a golden aura. The atmosphere was serene and sacred, as if Lord Vishnu's blessings were showering down. All the sages were eager to hear the nectar-like words emanating from Vyasa Deva's mouth, their hearts yearning to ask questions and gain knowledge. They wished to know the path to freedom from worldly bonds, to know that ultimate truth which is beyond the cycle of birth and death.

Vyasa Deva said in a grave tone, "O sages! Vishnu devotion is the only path to Moksha. Just as darkness is dispelled by sunlight, similarly, all sins and ignorance in the heart are removed by the love of Vishnu. Continuously chant the Lord's name, remember His divine pastimes, and surrender at His feet. This is the path to liberation." He further added, "The world is an illusion, a deception. The only truth is Lord Vishnu, who is the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of this universe."

Shrimad Bhagavata Purana: The Fruit of Listening

Describing the fruit of listening to the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana, Vyasa Deva said, "Whoever listens to this Purana with faith and devotion will be freed from all their sins. They will attain happiness and prosperity in this world, and after death, they will attain the abode of Lord Vishnu. This Purana is an ocean of knowledge, a source of love, and the path to liberation. Whoever listens to it will surely become worthy of the Lord's grace." He explained that listening to the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana is like a sacrifice, in which both the listener and the speaker benefit equally. It is a nectar that makes life meaningful and purposeful.

As Vyasa Deva said this, celestial beings showered flowers from the sky. Sweet music began to play from heaven, and the hearts of all the sages were filled with joy. They felt as if Lord Vishnu Himself was blessing them. Indeed, the grace of God is incomparable, boundless, and whoever takes refuge in Him with a true heart surely receives it.

The Importance of Vishnu's Grace

Vyasa Deva finally said, "O sages! Nothing is possible without the grace of Vishnu. It is by His grace that we can gain knowledge, follow Dharma, and attain liberation. Therefore, always remain grateful to Lord Vishnu, praise Him, and surrender at His feet. This is the essence of life, and this is true devotion." Thus, the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana leads us towards the love and grace of Lord Vishnu. It teaches us that the world is an illusion, and the truth resides only in God.

Vyasa Deva blessed His disciples and told them to spread this knowledge in the world so that everyone could become worthy of Lord Vishnu's grace. He also said that this narrative would continue, for ages to come, always guiding people on the path of truth. His final words were: "Vishnu is truth, Vishnu is love, Vishnu is liberation."
