Restoration and Liberation

The time of Santoshi Mata's difficult test for Leelavati and her family was coming to an end. In the previous chapter, we saw how Leelavati faced all the hardships with patience and devotion. Now, by the grace of Santoshi Mata, happiness and prosperity were about to enter their lives, and the old woman was also about to realize her mistake.

The Beginning of a Miracle

With the first ray of the sun, Leelavati woke up and worshipped Santoshi Mata. She sang the aarti with devotion and prayed to the Mother to keep her grace upon her family. There was a wonderful peace in her heart, as if Santoshi Mata was assuring her that everything would be alright. The fragrance of incense mixed with the sunlight and the sweet sound of the aarti created a divine atmosphere in the house. After years, a ray of hope was visible on Leelavati's face today.

Leelavati said to her husband, "Swami, I believe Santoshi Mata will help us. We should not lose courage. I will fast again today and remember the Mother." Her husband replied, "You have always been patient, Leelavati. Your devotion will surely bear fruit." Leelavati looked at the extinguished hearth, but today, instead of despair, the flame of hope was burning in it.

A Shower of Wealth

On the same day, Leelavati's husband, who had gone to the city in search of work, did not return empty-handed. He met a merchant who gave him work and also paid him an advance salary. This was an unexpected event, which marked the beginning of an improvement in the financial condition of Leelavati's family. When he returned home, he had a bag full of grains and fruits in his hands, and tears of contentment in his eyes.

As soon as Leelavati saw her husband, her eyes filled with joy. She thanked Santoshi Mata. Within a few days, the family's financial situation began to improve. Happiness returned to the house, and smiles reappeared on the children's faces. This was all a result of the boundless grace of Santoshi Mata. Leelavati understood that with true faith and devotion, everything is possible.

The Old Woman's Repentance

When the old woman saw the change in Leelavati's life, she realized her mistake. She learned that Leelavati had unwavering faith in Santoshi Mata, and she was reaping its rewards. She decided to apologize to Leelavati. One day, she went to Leelavati's house and fell at her feet, repenting for her actions. "Forgive me, Leelavati. I caused you a lot of suffering. I insulted your devotion," the old woman said, crying.

Leelavati lifted her up and said, "Mataji, it's alright. Santoshi Mata sees everything. She has made you realize your mistake, and that is enough." Leelavati forgave the old woman and told her about the glory of Santoshi Mata. The old woman also resolved to worship Santoshi Mata. She said to Leelavati, "From now on, I too will become a devotee of Santoshi Mata and will tell others about her glory." After this incident, devotion to Santoshi Mata increased even more in the village.
