Radha Krishna Love Story – Chapter 3: Radha's First Vision

Radha's First Vision
Discussions of Krishna's childhood pastimes in Gokul had now reached Nandgaon. Yashoda Maiya and Nand Baba sensed that their Kanha was no ordinary child, but they wanted to give him the comforts of an ordinary life. Meanwhile, one day, Krishna went to graze cows in the forest, where he met an amazing girl - Radha.
Meeting in the Forest
Near Nandgaon, in a quiet forest by the Yamuna, Radha had come to pick flowers with her friends. A gentle breeze was blowing and the leaves of the trees were producing a sweet rustling sound. Radha, adorned with her sixteen adornments, looked like a heavenly nymph. Her eyes were like lotuses, and a divine light resided on her face. A sea of love and devotion was stirring in her heart, eager to see Krishna.
"Friend, look, how peaceful and beautiful this forest is," Radha said to her friend Lalita. "My heart says that something special is going to happen here." Lalita smiled and said, "Radhe, your words are so mysterious! Come, let's pick more flowers, it's going to be evening." Just then the sweet sound of a flute was heard.
Attraction to Krishna
Hearing the sound of the flute, Radha's attention was distracted. She started looking in the direction of the sound. Under a banyan tree, Krishna was playing his flute. His dark complexion, peacock feather crown, and yellow clothes made him even more attractive. Radha had never seen anyone so beautiful before. A unique love began to swell in her heart, a love she had never experienced before. Immersed in the tune of Krishna's flute, Radha forgot everything.
Krishna stopped playing his flute and looked at Radha. There was a glow of love and joy in his eyes. He gave Radha a gentle smile. "Radhe," Krishna said in a sweet voice, "I knew you would come. I was waiting for you." Radha, overwhelmed with emotion, just kept gazing at Krishna. No words came out of her mouth.
Effect of the Leelas
Krishna introduced Radha to his pastimes. He showed Radha how he is the protector of the universe, and how he destroyed the wicked. Radha was astonished, but she had complete faith in Krishna. She came to know that Krishna is not an ordinary child, but God himself. Krishna explained that love is the essence of life, and Radha is the expression of that love. This first vision started a new chapter in Radha's life. Her mind was completely immersed in Krishna's love, and the immortal saga of their love began in Vrindavan. Now her life started revolving around Krishna, and she always wished to be with him.
Summary of Chapter 3: In this chapter, Radha and Krishna meet for the first time. Radha is fascinated by Krishna's form and pastimes. This meeting shows that true love is divine and it connects the soul to God.
