Purushottam Maas Katha: Adhyaya 4 | पुरुषोत्तम मास कथा: अध्याय 4 |
Adhimas, surrendering, tells Lord Vishnu about his humiliation and suffering. Moved by compassion, Lord Vishnu accepts Adhimas and assures him.
Shrinarayan said, 'Hey Narad! We will tell you the auspicious words that Adhimas said to Lord Purushottam, with the desire for the welfare of the people, listen.
Adhimas said, 'Hey Nath! Hey Kripnidhe! Hey Hare! Those who are stronger than me have removed this poor man from their category by saying 'This is Malmas'. Why don't you protect me who has come here? Seeing me, who is devoid of a master and forbidden from auspicious deeds by the months etc. of your master deity, where has your compassion gone and how has this harshness come today?
Hey Bhagavan! Just as you protected Vasudev's wife (Devaki) who was burning from the fire of Kansa, similarly, O Deenavatsal! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge today?
Just as you protected Draupadi, the daughter of King Drupad, from the suffering of Dushasan, similarly, O Deendayala! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge today?
Just as you protected the cowherds and animals from the poison of Kaliya Nag in Yamuna, similarly, O Deenavatsal! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge today?
Just as you protected the animals and the animal keepers and the wives of the animal keepers from the fire that broke out in the forest of Sarpat in Braj, similarly, O Deenavatsal! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge today.
Just as you protected the kings from the bondage of Jarasandha, the king of Magadha, similarly, O Deenavatsal! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge.
Just as you quickly protected Gajraj from the mouth of the alligator, similarly, O Deenavatsal! Tell me, why don't you protect me who has come to your refuge today?'
Shrinarayan said, 'In this way, saying to God, the masterless Malmas, with a tearful face, stood silently in front of the Lord of the world. Seeing him crying, God soon became compassionate and spoke to the poor-faced Malmas standing nearby.
Shrihari said, 'Hey Vatsa! Why are you so deeply immersed in sorrow at this time? What great sorrow is in your mind? We will save you who are drowning in sorrow, do not grieve. One who comes to my refuge is no longer worthy of grief. Even the most miserable wretch does not grieve here, why are you suppressing your mind in sorrow after coming here.
Where there is no sorrow on coming, nor does old age ever come, nor is there any fear of death, but there is always bliss, how can you be sad after coming to such Vaikuntha? Seeing you sad here, the residents of Vaikuntha are greatly surprised, O Vatsa! Tell me why do you want to die at this time?'
Shrinarayan said, 'Hearing the words of God in this way, just as a man carrying a burden takes breath after putting down the burden, similarly, taking a breath, Adhimas spoke to Madhusudan.
Adhimas said, 'Hey Bhagavan! You are omnipresent, nothing is unknown to you, you are pervading the world like the sky and sitting. Vishnu, who pervades the moving and non-moving, is the witness of all, sees the whole world, even in the proximity of the subject, all beings are situated in you, devoid of distortion, according to the limits of the scriptures. Hey Jagannath! There is nothing without you. Don't you know the suffering of me, the unfortunate one?
However, O Nath! I tell my pain in the way I am surrounded by the web of sorrow, I have neither seen nor heard of anyone as sad as that. Moment, Nimesh, Muhurta, Paksha, Masa, day and night all remain happy without fear from the rights of their masters. I have no name, nor do I have any master, nor does anyone have refuge in me, therefore all the gods with moments etc. masters have disrespected me from auspicious work.
This Malmas is always to be abandoned, is blind, is about to fall into the pit, everyone says so. Because of this, I want to die, now I have no desire to live. It is better to die than a despicable life. How can one who is always burning sleep, O Maharaj! I have nothing more to say to you than this.
In the Vedas, you are known in this way that Purushottam, you are fond of benevolence and do not tolerate the suffering of others. Now, understanding your religion, do as you wish. You are the Lord and great, it is not appropriate for a wretch like me to keep saying something to you every now and then. I will die, I will die, I will not live now, saying this again and again, that Adhimas, O son of Brahma! became silent. And suddenly fell near Shri Vishnu. Then seeing Malmas falling in this way, the people of God's assembly were greatly surprised.'
Shrinarayan said, 'To Adhimas, who was silent after saying this, Shri Krishna, overwhelmed with great compassion, spoke in a voice as deep as a cloud, pacifying him like the rays of the moon.'
Sutji said, 'Hey Vipra! Hearing the words similar to the fire of Badvanal, which absorbs the ocean of the aggregate of sins of Narayan, who is dependent on the wealth of the form of Vedas, Narad Muni, pleased, again spoke with the desire to hear the words of the original man.
Thus ends the third chapter in Shri Brihannaradiya Purana Purushottammas Mahatmya ॥4॥
