📖 Choghadiya — The Hindu Time Selector
Choghadiya is a popular Hindu method of dividing the day into auspicious and inauspicious segments. The word comes from "char ghadi" — each Choghadiya lasts about 1.5 hours (96 minutes). There are 8 Choghadiyas during the day and 8 at night.
The seven Choghadiyas — Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char, Udveg, Kaal, and Rog — follow a fixed sequence that changes each day of the week. Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the best, while Kaal, Rog and Udveg should be avoided.
