Meaning of the Aarti

In the first stanza, Goddess Ambe Gauri is praised, whose form is extremely beautiful and radiant. Devotees meditate on her day and night, and deities like Hari, Brahma, and Shiva also worship her. This line signifies the supremacy of Goddess Durga.

Method of Performing Aarti

Rotate the Aarti in a clockwise direction in front of the deity's idol. Generally, the Aarti is rotated four times over the feet, twice over the navel, once over the face, and seven times over the entire body. While performing Aarti, chant "Jai Ambe Gauri" or other mantras.

The Navdurga Aarti can be performed during Mangala Aarti (morning), Sandhya Aarti (at sunset), and Shayan Aarti (before sleeping at night). Each time has its own significance and is a way to express devotion and surrender to Goddess Durga.
