Matsya's Guidance and Promise

The Tandava of destruction was at its peak. The boat, carrying the Saptarishi sages, Manu, and the seeds of all creatures, was swaying on the vast expanse of water. In the previous chapter, we saw how Matsya Avatar took the responsibility of keeping the boat safe. Now, listen further, how the Lord showed the way and promised to establish a new era.

Towards the Himalayas

The force of the water was so immense that it was difficult to even sense direction. Chaos reigned all around, with only the roar of the water and the creaking sounds of the boat being heard. The sages were distressed, Manu was worried, and the animals were terrified. An atmosphere of uncertainty prevailed every moment. Death seemed to be ready to swallow everyone with its jaws wide open.

Just then, the Lord in the form of Matsya opened His vast mouth and spoke in a deep, calm voice, "O Manu, do not fear. Trust in Me. I will take you to a safe place. Keep your gaze towards the Himalayas; that is our destination." Manu raised his eyes, his heart filled with hope. "Lord, your command is my duty," he replied.

The Binding of Sheshnag

Matsya Avatar manifested Sheshnag with His divine power. The infinite serpent, with its immense size and power, appeared as if tearing through the waters. There was compassion in its eyes, and divine energy flowed from its body. Matsya Bhagavan commanded Manu, "O Manu, tie Sheshnag to the boat."

Manu immediately began to tie Sheshnag to the boat. The serpent king presented himself like a strong rope, allowing the boat to be securely fastened. Matsya Bhagavan, with His power, began to pull the boat towards the peak of the Himalayas – which was untouched by the deluge – using Sheshnag. This sight was incredible. A small boat, a giant fish, and the rope of Sheshnag, all together were ushering in a new era. It was the grace of Vishnu that made this impossible task possible.

The End of the Deluge and Assurance

Matsya Avatar guided the boat over the submerged Earth until the deluge ended. He patiently overcame every obstacle and safely brought the boat to the peak of the Himalayas. As the water level began to recede and land reappeared, Matsya Bhagavan assured Manu, "O Manu, I have kept you and the seeds of the Earth safe. Now, it is your responsibility to begin a new creation. Follow dharma and righteousness, and establish a new era."

Manu bowed to Matsya Bhagavan with gratitude. His heart was filled with hope and courage. He knew he had a great responsibility, but he also had faith that the blessings of Lord Vishnu were with him. Now, Manu was ready to establish the new era, and the Earth was ready for a new beginning.
