Chapter 3 of the Karni Mata Katha — Miracles and Blessings. This chapter describes the various miracles performed by Karni Mata and the blessings bestowed upon people.

Miracles and Blessings

After the wedding rituals, Karni Mata decided to renounce worldly life and walk the path of public welfare. Her mind was now free from worldly attachments and engrossed in serving the poor and distressed. News of her renunciation spread far and wide, and people began to come to her with their problems and sorrows.

Fulfilling the Wombs of the Childless

Talk of Karni Mata's miracles began to spread in the village and surrounding areas. Once, a couple, named Ramlal and Sita, had been childless for many years. There was despair in their eyes and deep anguish in their hearts. They had heard that with Karni Mata's blessings, even the childless could attain the joy of parenthood. They approached Karni Mata with a ray of hope. Their emaciated bodies and sad faces moved Karni Mata's heart. Compassion welled up in her eyes.

Sita said, weeping, "Mother, we have performed many pujas and taken medicines, but our wombs are still empty. Please bless us so that our homes too echo with the laughter of children." Ramlal also joined his hands in prayer and said, "Mother, we have come to your refuge, please accept our plea." Karni Mata calmed them and said, "Your faith and devotion are true. I bless you, your wombs will surely be filled. God will be merciful to you."

Healing the Sick

In another incident, cholera had spread in the village. People were crying out in distress. Many lives had been lost, and the village was shrouded in mourning. People were hiding in their homes out of fear. In such a time of crisis, Karni Mata stepped forward to help the villagers. She began to treat people with herbs and her spiritual power.

Karni Mata consoled the patients and asked them to be patient. She went to every house, gave the sick people her herbal decoction, and cast her benevolent gaze upon them. Gradually, the condition of the patients began to improve, and the cholera spreading in the village stopped. People chanted Karni Mata's name in praise, and began to consider her an incarnation of the goddess. Happiness returned to the village through her grace. Seeing this, the faith and trust of the people in her grew even stronger.

Consoling Sorrowful Hearts

Karni Mata helped not only the sick and childless, but also every sad and troubled person. Whoever came to her with their sorrows and troubles never returned disappointed. Karni Mata lessened people's sorrows with her sweet words and loving demeanor, and inspired them to move forward in life. There was such magic in her speech that it brought peace and solace to people's hearts.

"Don't worry, child. Happiness and sorrow come and go in life. Have faith in God, and everything will be alright," she often told people. Her words gave people new energy, and they would forget their sorrows and prepare to move forward in life. With her consolation and blessings, people began to overcome their sorrows and move towards happiness. Now Karni Mata's name had spread far and wide, and people were eager to have her darshan. Seeing this growing popularity and the love of the people, she resolved to establish her permanent abode in Deshnoke, the story of which is narrated in the next chapter.
