Chapter 2 of the Kaliya Naag Daman Katha — Krishna's initial reaction. Krishna assures the villagers and decides to teach Kaliya Naag a lesson.

Krishna's Initial Reaction

The water of Vrindavan had become poisonous, a terrible tragedy. In the previous chapter, we saw how the Yamuna River was polluted by the poison of Kaliya Nag, endangering the lives of the residents of Gokul. Now, all eyes were on Krishna, the center of everyone's hope, who could save them from this disaster. It was important to see how Krishna would reassure the frightened and desperate villagers of peace and security.

Consoling the Villagers

The villagers, distressed and frightened by the poison, gathered around Krishna. Their faces had turned pale, their eyes filled with tears. Mothers held their children tightly, as if protecting them from some invisible danger. A deep silence of despair and fear pervaded the air, which even Krishna's presence could not completely dispel. They were looking to their beloved Kanha for hope, for he was the only one who could guide them in this hour of crisis.

Krishna said in a calm and steady voice, "Do not be afraid, my dear villagers. I know this is a difficult time, but we must be patient. I promise you that I will protect you. The poison of Kaliya Nag will not spread any further. You will all be safe." He instilled hope in the frightened hearts with his sweet voice. There was a divine power in his words, which reduced the fear of the villagers and gave them the strength to face the crisis.

The Mystery of Kaliya Nag

After calming the villagers, Krishna decided to gather information about Kaliya Nag. He held a secret meeting with Nand Baba, Balram, and some senior villagers. They learned that Kaliya Nag was no ordinary serpent, but the king of snakes. He was notorious for his terrible poison and cruel nature. He had taken refuge in the Yamuna River for fear of Garuda, where Garuda could not enter due to the curse of Rishi Saubhari.

As the cruelty and power of Kaliya Nag became known, Krishna's face became serious. He said to Balram, "Brother, this challenge is very big. Kaliya Nag is extremely powerful, but we have to save the people of Vrindavan. This is my duty." Krishna knew that he would have to use the divine power hidden within him. To protect the residents of Vrindavan, he would have to face Kaliya Nag.

Planning Ahead

Krishna decided that he himself would go into the Yamuna River and face Kaliya Nag. He told Balram and other senior villagers about his plan. Balram was worried and tried to stop Krishna, but Krishna was firm. He said, "Brother, I have to go. If I don't go, Kaliya Nag will destroy Vrindavan. I am confident that I will succeed." There was an amazing glow in Krishna's eyes, which left Balram speechless.

The next day, Krishna set out towards the Yamuna River. There was a feeling of courage and compassion in his heart. He knew that the war with Kaliya Nag would be a very big challenge, but he was not afraid. He was the protector of Vrindavan, and he could go to any extent to protect his people. Now, the time was near for Krishna to jump into the Yamuna and for his great battle with Kaliya Nag.

Summary of Chapter 2: In this chapter, we saw how Krishna calmed the villagers troubled by the poisonous water and gathered information about Kaliya Nag. Krishna's determination and resolve to protect the people of Vrindavan show the importance of hope and courage in times of crisis. Krishna's decision to jump into the Yamuna shows us that the power to sacrifice for love and compassion is infinite, which leads us to the great battle with Kaliya Nag in the next chapter.
