Blessings and Conclusion

After the slaying of Shumbha and Nishumbha, peace descended upon the three worlds. The gods and sages chanted victory for Mother Durga. Now, Surath and Samadhi, both filled with gratitude in their hearts, awaited Mother's next command. Mother Durga was about to grant them her divine vision, and their lives were about to receive a new direction.

The Divine Vision of the Goddess

The atmosphere inside the temple was wondrous. The fragrance of incense and lamps floated in the air, and both Surath and Samadhi were silently praising the Mother. Suddenly, a brilliant light spread throughout the entire temple. The light was so intense that for a few moments, their eyes were dazzled. Gradually, the light subsided, and in its place, a divine form appeared – Mother Durga, in her full glory, seated on a lion. Her face shone with radiance, and her eight arms held various weapons. Her eyes held compassion and blessings. The sight was so extraordinary that both Surath and Samadhi were overwhelmed with emotion.

Surath joined his hands and said, "O Mother, we are ignorant, forgive us. Our lives have been blessed by your vision." Samadhi also said with devotion, "Mother, it is by your grace that we have attained everything. Take us under your refuge."

Surath Regains His Kingdom, Samadhi Attains Liberation

Mother Durga spoke in a sweet voice, "O King Surath, I am pleased with your devotion and sacrifice. You will regain your kingdom and rule righteously. Your fame will spread in all directions. You will become an ideal king." Then, Mother looked at Samadhi and said, "O Samadhi, you are progressing on the path of knowledge and detachment. You will attain liberation and be freed from the cycle of birth and death. Your name will always be remembered among the wise." As she said this, the Mother blessed them both. Surath bowed at Mother's feet, his heart filled with gratitude. Samadhi also bowed to the Mother, experiencing peace and contentment in his mind.

Receiving the Goddess's blessings, a new enthusiasm filled Surath's heart. He was inspired to re-establish his kingdom and work for the welfare of his subjects. Samadhi's mind was freed from worldly attachments. He gained the strength to walk the path of knowledge and detachment. By the grace of Mother Durga, the purpose of both their lives was fulfilled.

Conclusion of the Narrative and its Fruits

Thus, Mother Durga bestowed fruits upon Surath and Samadhi according to their deeds. Surath followed the duties of a king, and Samadhi attained liberation. This narrative tells us that by walking the path of devotion, sacrifice, and knowledge, one can achieve the goal of life. The worship of Mother Durga removes all sufferings and brings happiness and peace. Whoever hears, reads, or narrates this story receives the blessings of Mother Durga, and prosperity comes into their life. Listening to the story of Durga Saptashati fulfills all desires and ultimately leads to liberation.
