Origin and Divine Light

From the beginning of creation, the light of the primordial power has manifested in various forms. This is the story of that divine light which made Amba mountain its abode, and established Ambaji as a Shaktipeeth. This is the tale of that infinite power, which revealed itself to protect its devotees.

Emergence from the Fire Pit

Amidst the Aravalli mountain ranges, there was a serene and picturesque place. Here, sages and ascetics remained engrossed in their penance, performing yajnas and havans for the welfare of the world. The fire of their penance seemed to touch the sky, as if inviting the gods to Earth. There was a wonderful peace in that atmosphere, but soon that peace was to witness a great event. The sages were performing yajna, and the atmosphere was resonant with chanting, as they offered oblations into the fire to appease the primordial power. A sage said, "O Mother! We are eager to behold you. Please bless us with your grace." Just then, a wondrous light emerged from the fire pit. This light was so intense that all the sages were compelled to close their eyes. A feeling of fear and wonder surged in their hearts.

Establishment on Amba Mountain

The divine light that rose from the fire pit slowly began to move towards Amba Mountain. There was an extraordinary radiance in that light, as if the sun itself paled in comparison. As a pillar of light, that divine glow was established on Amba Mountain. This light was not ordinary; it was a symbol of the primordial power, which had come to fill devotees with its divine blessings. From that day onwards, Amba Mountain became a sacred place, where people began to come to worship the divine power. By the grace of Ambaji Mata, prosperity and peace resided in that region. A sense of reverence and devotion awakened in the hearts of the people. Whosoever devotee prayed to Ambaji with a true heart, their wishes were fulfilled. Ambaji Mata protected everyone and showed them the right path. By her blessings, joy and peace filled the lives of the devotees.

Construction of the Shaktipeeth

The light established on Amba Mountain grew day by day. A temple was constructed around that light, which came to be known as a Shaktipeeth. This temple became the abode of Mother Ambaji, where devotees came to offer their prayers and devotion. Ambaji Shaktipeeth became a symbol of power and devotion, where millions of devotees come every year with their faith and reverence. Now, in the next chapter, we will describe the glory of this Shaktipeeth and its further story, where the grace of Ambaji Mata continues to be upon the devotees.
